Today my finger-grooved D2 Sifu arrived, and boy was I a happy knife knut. This is one hell of a knife! You guys, if you don't have a Sifu yet, I really think you need one. Fit and finish were just about perfect. The stonewash blade looks really good. Came shaving sharp. Zero blade play, locks up solid. The clip was very uncomfortable so I ditched it. Great knife. After a little bit of Tuff-Glide the action was very smooth.

One question though- When I snap the blade open, the lock is very hard to disengage. (it's no problem when I open it slowly) New Axis locks stick like this also, will the Rolling Lock wear in the same way?

If you are referring to a "snapping" feeling that occurs before you can unlock the knife, then, yes. it does break in. just takes a bit of work. hey, at least it locks up too good, and not too little, right? haha

both my carnie and carnie cub are like that. they both seem to be breaking in pretty good. but when they started out, it was almost a two handed ordeal to close them....lol.

sorry if this wasn't quite the same issue

It has completely smoothed out now. Just like Axis locks (and some liner locks IME), all it needed was some time to wear in.

Here's a longer writeup of my new Sifu, for those of you who are thinking about getting one: This is an impressive knife. It's big, but it doesn't look, feel, or carry like a huge knife. Some knives, like the KFF, Carny, & CSVG just seem really big. The Sifu, like the 940, looks and feels like it's smaller than it is. It's long and skinny, not disproportionate, but sleek. The blade came perfectly centered and shaving sharp. The whole knife is very sturdily constructed, very strong. The stonewash finish looks really good, maybe better than BM's satin. Action was pretty smooth after a good dose of Tuff-Glide. I'm not usually a fan of full finger grooves, but these fit my hand perfectly. The knife just locks into my hand and you know it's gonna stay there. First knife I've found that fits my hand better than the AFCK. The Sifu is a little big to be perfectly comfortable in my RF pocket, but I'm used to carrying a 940 or Native there. The Sifu's tip-up clip was very uncomfortable in my hand. Usually knives feel a little bit better w/o clips, but this clip just killed my hand. So off it went. I've got a S&W vertical sheath that has a clip as well as a belt loop. I cut the top off of it and have been carrying the Sifu in that IWB for the last few days and it seems to work well. This'll probably be how I'll carry it. Unfortunately my school rules have a 5" limit, so the Sifu'll get night & weekend duty. In my book the Sifu is definitely a winner. If you can make next Saturday I'll let you hold it

This is taking forever to write because after each sentence I pick it up again. Looking at the Rolling Lock I can't see how it could possibly fail. Though I still like the Axis lock betterbecause the Axis is a little bit smoother, has a more comfortable release button, and of course is ambi. The Sifu's dual thumb studs are just right, and the G-10 is nice and grippy like the AFCK, Harpy, or Native (much better than the plasticky G-10 on the 710, I'm still undecided on the 722's G-10 finish). The fit and finish on the Sifu are just about perfect. I haven't heard of anybody who didn't like this knife, so even sight unseen I think it's a good buy, especially in D2. When I snapped the Sifu open it would stick and be very hard to disengage, for the first 2 days, then it wore in nicely. New Axis locks do this too. It's safe to say I'm happy with this knife.

Thanks for the views. Another knife to add to the list
