I finally got tired of thinking about ordering one and just went ahead and did it. I'll likely have to sell off a knife or two to pay the credit card bill when it comes, but that's the way it goes.

I really like my BM 710, but it can be a bit too much knife for around the office. Tends to scare some folks. I figure the 705 will be just the ticket. Compact, great steel in ATS-34, and my favorite scale material in G-10. Oh, and then there's the Axis lock, which you can't beat.

Who here carries a 705?

After 2 years of owning, selling, buying again and carrying, I finally decided the 705 was my favorite pocket knife.

I carry it in my pocket, sans clip.

Great knife.

It is one heck of a mini-workhorse. You shan't regret your purchase!

Lee, I almost bid against you on that $90 Benchmade 705 on eBay. I've done business with Odomace (the knife store in South Carolina) before, and that wasn't a bad price for a new knife. Wound up getting mine for a little less, but not by too much.

Thanks for all the replies folks. I look forward to getting the knife in a few days. I'm guessing it'll become one of my favorite carries.

They do have good prices. I live in SC, so that's where I but most of my knives. Last time I went, they had an old-style BM AFCK with M2 and the true round hole (discontinued) for $60. Another thing that got my attention was a Case Limited Edition Red White and Blue collector's set, (only 500 made), serial number 001.

Thanks for not running it up on me. I knew I could buy it outright at American Outdoor Sports for $90 so that was my top bid. If I had lost it that is where I would have gone. AOS doesn't post their Benchmade prices on their web page for some reason, but you can get pricing by email. I have good experience with both Odom Ace and American Outdoor Sports. I guess I need to try New Graham as everyone speaks well of them. - Lee

Lee, I wound up using DiscountKnives. The listed price is higher, but Brian guarantees he'll beat other listed internet prices by 10% (as long as they aren't closeout or sale prices). I've bought four or five knives from him with good results in the past. Hope you enjoy your Benchmade.
