No, not a Centofante Vesuvius. An old-school Spyderco Centofante. This one.

It seems like a great knife. ATS-34. G-10. Utilitarian 2 7/8" blade. Sleek design. Secondary lock. Low-riding clip. It's one of the Spydercos I let get past me without buying, and I decided to get one before they're all gone. I even managed to snag a serial numbered version NIB. Can't wait for it to get here.

Anybody have the C25? How do you like it? I checked the archives but didn't find a whole bunch.

I have one of those with a serrated edge. Very smooth opening and feels good in the hand. The hole in the blade is a bit small compared to most Spyderco knives, but it works okay. The blade safety works well too, but I think of the Centofante as a utility knife, not suited for "tactical" use, so the safety is just an added feature (bells & whistles). Anyway, it's too bad the design never really took off and was discontinued.

I just picked one up and my initial response is very good. It's well built, the blade looks great, and the dual locking mechanisms are a plus. I plan on carrying it as part of my EDC rotation. The really cool part of the whole knife is that I don't have another one that even looks closely like it, which I can't say about some others in my collection.

I also like the idea of having a production knife that's been discontinued.

Well, I had one of the older aluminum models.

Very small opening hole made for difficult opening for me.
Hole was too close to the sharp front scale, so when opening, the bottom of the front scale would bite my thumb.

Fortunately, I was distracted from that bite when the back of the blade (that strike the stop pin) and is also quite sharp, bit my index finger.

No, I did not like the package. The blade is a great blade, but the whole package just doesn't cut it for me.

I have had a C25 for three years now. It was a daily carry utility knife for more than a year, but it is now retired to mainly desk duty.

I like it a lot. Very trim, excellent opener, takes a good edge, its flat ground, makes a nice shop knife with its back-up lock. It is probably a little small for 'tactical' carry, but it is a very nice little knife for the $$$. Enjoy.

I didn't know they had discontinued that model, and frankly, I am surprised. It is a very well designed package.

The small Centofante is one of my favorite Spydies -- I was sorry to see it discontinued. It's a nice, slim folder with a very solid liner lock. You won't regret your purchase.

I also have had one for 3 yrs now and even tho i rotate
like crazy ,i always love the look and smooth opening of
that knife ..Mine is full serrate, and i'am a sucker for G-10;)

I had one and in a moment of weakness traded it off. A week later I found another one. I've carried mine off and on for a couple of years now. Nice flat grind w/ typical Spyderco quality. Very thin handle profile also, rides very easily in the pocket.

I've got the larger one, C50S. I really can't discuss it w/o sounding like a Spyderco commercial. Thin and light-weight, yet durable, ergonomic, attractive, and extremely useful! Makes a great letter/parcel opener, steak-knife, veggy slicer...but certainly not a chopper or pry-bar. One of my all time favorite EDC's. :D :D
