Over the weekend, I ordered a large Marble's Trailmaker with stacked leather grip from Bay Shore Resort in Gladstone, MI. Anyway, it arrived in the mail this morning. It looks great. And it feels remarkably light for its size. Upon very close inspection, you can see that the grinds along the clip are a tad uneven. But, hey, if I could do a better job, I'd be making them, not buying them.
However, it was downright dull out of the box. I got the strop out and worked on the edge a minute or two, until it would shave the hair off my arm with a little effort. This is my first experience with a convex edge. I've got a Busse Steelheart with the asymetrical edge and have very good luck hand sharpening the flat side with the flat surface of the fine rod from my Sharpmaker, followed by a strop to the convex side. My question, though, is what is the best way to maintain the full convex edge on this Trailmaker?
