JYD II CP making me slowly crazy

I own 2 of them, and they both have blades that are WAY off center. So much so that the blade actually contacts the non-lock side of the frame when it closes.

I can make them not touch by tightening the pivot screw, but even then, it's not centered, and it has to be too tight for it to flip before it stops touching

This is frustrating. Can anyone tell me a solution?

thanks!

I'd be interested to know too. Mine was the same. I was able to adjust it off the liner by tightening it up but it wandered back over. To tighten it more would make it a 2 hand opener.

Try adjusting all of the body screws. It may seem strange, but every screw makes a difference. It might not work, but it's worth a try.

That was attempt number 2. there are no adjustments that can be made without loosening them too much for the body to be stable.

There are only 2 sets of body screws, and you can't loosen them much at all without them protruding from the body

also, it doesn't do anything at all to the blade

Good idea though

this has been posted before but here goes loosen all the screws hold pressure on the blade in the direction you want it to move and retighten everything slowly.

Loosen ALL of the screws. Hold the blade to center and tighten the pivot screw. Continue holding the blade centered and tighten the rest of the screws. You can also use a couple of pieces of cardboard to hold the blade centered while you tighten the screws.

I have used this method successfully on nearly every knife. The only ones that it did not work on, the blades were actually bent.

this sounded counterintuitive when I heard it but it has worked for me - loosen the pivot screw and body screws, hold the tip of the blade against the side that it is already too close to, tighten the pivot, then tighten the body screws. It seems like the opposite of what you would want to do but it has worked on several of my knives.

Thanks guys. I will try all that stuff. Hopefully something will work. These knives are too awesome (and expensive) to have badly centered blades.

did not work at all... might have actually made it worse
