JYD II question

My JYD II is my favorite folder, and the only thing I don't like on it is the backspacer. It's functional, I guess, but I'd really prefer a stainless, Ti, or G10 piece. I've thought of trying to fabricate my own, but I really don't have much in the way of equipment, and the way the thing fits together makes everything more complicated (the four body screws are all male, and fit into metal inserts in the spacer). I've also considered going with pinned-together construction, for simplicity and possibly strength. Maybe simple steel standoffs would be better and/or easier to make, but I really prefer a full-length backspacer. What do you think would be my best option?

I thought it was that folder that the inserts pop out of and are bascially little stand offs on their own. In other words simply pop them out of the black part and use them on their own.

You can do this on the Military by Spyderco if desired also.

Awesome! And it just so happens I've got a slightly stripped (my fault) backspacer to try it on first! That would make things a whole lot easier. Thanks a lot!
