Ka-Bar Dozier Folding Hunter

I had the privilege of spending a day with this fine knife. It very much reminded me of something like a Spyderco Delica, but better. The FRN handles seemed sturdier than a basic Spyderco, and I much preferred the Dozier blade shape. The ergonomics were excellent for the size of the knife. The fit and finish was nearly perfect.

I wouldn’t hesitate on ordering one. It’s an excellent knife for the price.

Bought one today from A.G.. All I can say is WOW. Best $20 I've spent in a long time. This thing is awesome. Get one :D .

Fit and finish on mine is equal to FRN models from Spyderco and Cold Steel. Blade is thicker and much more suited to hard use compared to the Delica or medium Voyager, while still having a great edge. The lock is thicker and more positive as well. Well done all the way around.

Bob and I discussed this model before the news went public. But the full specs weren' t written out at that time. While I plan to get a hold of one of these, I' d like to know some info from those who have one.

*Is the thumb stud finish rounded/ untextured? Can' t tell from the pic at AGs website.
*Is the pivot pin adjustable? Looks like it uses an allen key head.
*Can someone post a pic of the pocket clip?

Thanks,
N.

I can't do pics, but I can answer questions! The pivot is adjustable via a Torx screw, same as the clip. The thumb stud is rounded and polished on the face, but the radius is stippled/checkered. It works great IMHO. Won't snag on pockets but it's easy to flick open. The clip is shorter and thinner than those found on the Spyderco Delica. Secure and not so noticeable. It is matte black finished.

Just ordered two. With the Dozier name on it I can not imagine it being a bad buy for $20.00. Nice knife to start the curious friends out on. I will post some pics when they show up. :)

Just wondering if anyone has gotten theirs who can post more pictures, say of the clip side???

Love Bob's work, can't afford $300 for one of his customs, so hows about it! Let us know, those of you who've gotten one of these, are they pretty good or what?

Thanks!

Sincerely
Anthony

I received mine last Friday and I've been carrying it ever since (clipped on my pocket right now). Really nice knife for $20. Sorry no pics :( The clip is very tastefully designed with a nice taper down to a rounded end. The design is great and feels very good in the hand (what do you expect from Bob?). The knurled surface of the scales provides good grip without being annoying. Fit and finish is also very good. The edges of the locking bar were pretty sharp so I did finish them off with a small file and sand paper. The tension of the locking bar is pretty high so you have to use a fair amount of force to open it but nothing that bothered me much. I'd rather have it stiff than open up when I didn't want it to (it is tip up carry). I put a leather lanyard knot on it last night which put the finishing touch on it for me.

I give it a big thumbs up. And hey, I can carry it with my Dozier Whittler and pretend it's one of Bob's custom folding hunters :p

This pic is off the Knifecenter website--not the greatest pic, but it does show the clip side.

Wow, looks like a really great buy. I guess it will have to be my knife for next month.
