I finished up my first knife of the New Year and really enjoyed making this pattern. My customer (this knife is sold) asked if I would post a thread here in traditional. I have always like the serpentine stock type pattern and when asked to make my version of a Texas Jack I was excited! One of the biggest differences between this knife and Case's offering is that the secondary blade is on the mark side versus the pile side. I personally prefer this arraignment on this pattern. Thanks for looking and any comments welcome.

3 1/2 closed serpentine jack
ATS-34 blades and springs, flat ground, hand rubbed 600 grit finish
.093 stock, master blade .078 stock secondary
Cut swedges
Long pull on master with crescent on secondary blade
Secondary blade is a modified Wharncliffe (;))
410 INTEGRAL frame and bolsters
Federal shield , pinned
Ken Erickson jigged bone scales
2 3/8 oz.

Dadgumit, son, I think you got a future in this bidness!!! ;)

Great work, Ken. (Again.)

An excellent (and useful) pattern.

2010 is going to be a good year. :)

Great swedges and secondary blade choice.

WOW,
I can honestly say I like everything about that knife.
A true beauty!

That's a real beauty Ken.......:) One of my favorite patterns.

If you could make us another 99 just like it for 80 bucks apiece you could be our 2010 Forum Knife vendor......:D

That's a heck of a knife to ring in the new year. Wonderful work and congrats to the new owner.

Great swedges and secondary blade choice.

Thanks for the kind comments on this knife! They are very much appreciated!

I also think the modified Wharncliffe blade is a GREAT choice for this knife. A certain forum member here had much to do with my willingness to use this blade profile.

That's a beauty. I really like the bone and the modified wharncliffe blade. Congrats to the owner and Mr. Erickson.

Definitely a fine looking knife. Left me drooling, even after lunch time.

Huh!...Imagine that... ;)

:p

(Royalties gratefully accepted. :D)

Blues, maybe you should talk to Bill Howard and Ken Daniels at GEC. Then we could all get one and you WOULD get some royalties! :D

Nobody has more traction with those gentlemen than our own estimable "Waynorth". Charlie would be done with the negotiations before I even got 'em on the line. ;)

I get all the royalties I need from the good will of the many friends I have learned I have here.
