Has anyone tried swapping blades between two Kershaw Blurs? I'm thinking of putting a plain S30V steel blade instead of the coated black on to my new Purple Aluminum handle Blur.

Would this work?

Thanks in advance.

I think the purple spider handle would look cool with the stonewashed S30V blade...also there is a Blur thread with 30 pages with many frankenblurs..

It is easy although for me the Leeks have been easier and the Blur slightly tricky and JYDs very hard to center a swap.

The s30v should look great but I love a stonewash and think anything with that stonewash looks amazing. I'm happy the 350 is now available in SW. Just received two and if I had the money would love to have a third to deassist and rehandle in wood of some sort.

Thanks fellas! I normally don't want to take my knife apart especially those with assisted deployment. Actually the coated blade with the purple aluminum handle Blur is starting to grow on me. So I'll probably will leave it as is.

Cheers.

The speed assist doesn't really make it much harder to pull apart and get back together. It has a torsion bar that is large and contained and not going to go flying away and get lost. To put it back together you fit one end in a notch and then let the blade end slip in to the hole. Getting everything centered again is the tricky part for me and isn't super difficult it just takes a bit of time to loosen here and tighten there and then test and repeat until it all lines up right.

Glad to hear you are happy the way it shipped though. Its always fun to have something a bit different sometimes and I just like to pull things apart to see how they work.

Yes the new Blur with anodized aluminum handle with purple spiderweb is really neat and nice out of the box. And the CPM154 is one of my favorite blade steel. So I'll probably leave it as is for now.
