Anyone have the Echo by Kershaw Knives? I saw it in Wal-Mart today, and asked to see it. I'd always liked the design and everything. Wondering if anyone on here uses it for hunting or anything like that!
Thanks!

I asked to see one in a Gander Mountain store around Christmas and was extremely impressed with the secure feel of the checkered/textured scales and the lovely Ken Onion recurve blade.

Right now the only Onion I have is the Scallion.

The Echo would make an excellent fixed carry knife, at a very reasonable cost. AUS 8A, isn't it?

It's AUS8A. Good grip on the handle, nice blade shape.

Jim,
Everything is now made in China, but the ironic thing is now that
they are Capitalists, though very repressive,in Communists clothing
it has foiled their plans for world domination because there would
be nobody to buy all their stuff and the mass billions would be
unemployed and hungry.

Has anyone successfully customized their Echo with Micarta handles, or any material other than the stock Zytel-like covering, for that matter? I'm just wondering how big a job it is to get the original scales off.

I've handled one, and I like it! AUS-8 steel is pretty good steel, I think Browning knives use it,too. I agree, it's too bad that it's made in China. Still, I'll probably get one this year, 'cause it looks like too good a knife to not have, especially for the price.
