That's what I figured...no one seems know anything about this knife!

I remember reading many years ago about what may be the same knife. I remember it was made in Germany, forged blade with integral guard and bolsters.

I orded one anyway. I hope it's what I'm expecting it to be!

Well, its a nice looking knife with a great finish, I understand.
But I have often wondered just who would buy one, and for what reason except for display or for award presentation.

It's been around since the early 80's so there must be a demand for such an expensive Seki made piece as this.

Sorry to have to ask this, but what's your reason for wanting a Trooper?

I must say that you have a keen eye for detail as its indeed a beautiful piece to have.

I have 2 Kershaw MBK's I think that they are a nice, classy knife.they are a frogsticker though. the edge is far too thick to get very sharp.

They were made by Anton Wingen. The same knife under their brand is $40 on Ebay with a stag handle and bad sheath. way to wedgy to get sharp, more of a thruster.
:).

I'd appreciate if you take a look and let me know if it's the same knife you are describing as having a thick edge.

If it is, I will cancel my order.

I prefer a fine cutting edge for all my knives.

Thanks for your help,

Wow! Collector,
now it looks like I am going to have to have admit that there's more to the Kershaw product line than what I already know.
Guess, I was waaaay of mark on this one.
Sorry I can't be of further help.

So, which knife is it, are we talking about here fellas?
A vintage perhaps?
Anything from here?

Yes, that is just like the Wingen made old ones. They just lengthed the swedge, and kydexed it up.

The blade on the Wingen models was only scraping sharp. As they are the same pattern, I'm guessing this one is too.

I deleted that piece of crapola from my order. Thanks again for your advice.

I didn't know what to get in it's place so now I'm getting the 'Sog Delux Mini Power-Plier'. Is it a good tool?

Thanks,
