Killer place to buy stuff

there's a national liquidator called Tuesday Morning that has killer closeouts on high end stuff. They sell off closeouts on all kinds of things from sheets to kitchen stuff to luggage and gardening accessories.

Look at tuesdaymorning.com to se if there's a store near you. They even have knives. They almost always have the Spanish or Chinese Henckels sets, but occasionally they get some good German stuff in. I just picked up a Sabatier Professional (the good French steel)chef's knife and steel for my buddy. They also had a couple cleavers from the same Sabatier Pro line. I've seen Henckels Professional S stuff in there from time to time. Chicago Cutlery seems to be a staple as well.

Because they're liquidators, their inventory is constantly changing, so it's worth visiting your local one regurlarly if you're lucky enough to have one nearby.

Everything this place sells is 50%- 80% off the original retail. I just saw a $650.00 Krups Cappachino machine for $195.00 NIB! You have to be careful taking your wife to a place like this though as they have a bunch of high end women's stuff too. To me, a $400.00 set of sheets still costs too much even at 75% off! (although if your wife is a candle nut like mine is, this place might actually save you money).

They also get in seasonal things like expensive limited edition Christmas ornaments, vases, and stuff like that, all at big discounts.

Tuesday Morning is a great place for gift shopping. You can give a $100.00 Krups toaster oven as a wedding gift, but only spend $39.99!

I got $800.00 in Henckels Twincast non- stick pans for $220.00. I love to cook but would never have spent $800.00 on pans, but these things are RAD. The Henckels pans we're a one time deal, but they've always got deals on Calphalon's better stuff, frequently individual pans as well as boxed sets.

I even got replacement ceramic briquettes for my gas grill tehere at 65% off!

Just thought I'd share the tip.

Happy shopping!

Yeah, I love that place! Got all my family Christmas gifts there last year for pretty cheap! :D

I don't know, maybe the ones near you guys are different, but the TM in my parents town is not much more than a poorly organized Big Lots. Hell, it's not even as brightly lit as BL.

Just another junk store from my perspective...

Well, I dunno what a Big Lots is. But yeah, Tuesday Morning kinda is a "junk store" but I love thrift stores, etc., so it's really my kind of place...:) Mostly I buy candles there. They have a big selection and low prices...

I get to visit retail stores for a living (HiFi stores) and while traveling around, I occasionally get to make side trips (like to knife stores and TMs) and the variance is quite remarkable. Tuesday Morning, being a liquidator, tends not to spend too much on the physical store to help keep their prices low. In my sales territory, I know of at least 5 TMs, and just like the HiFi stores I visit, the presentation can vary quite a bit and is generally related to how much the store manager cares. Some are cleaner and better organized than others even in the same chain.

Even if your local one is a dump, the deals can still be quite good. If you have one TM near you, you might have another, better run one nearby as they tend to go into a local market with more than a single location .

Big Lots is more like Pic-N-Sav, and while they're a liquidator as well, they tend to just sell cheap junk, with the occasional good deal on something decent, whereas TM tends to specialize in better quality, name brand stuff.

If you want a beautiful place to buy the stuff, shop at Macy's and pay full price.
