I set up at a local gun/knife show today from 630am til 330pm. I sold a few guns and had some knives on display with hopes of finding some nice old slippies. NO LUCK ..Very little on the tables and nothing coming in the door. On my way out a little old Amish guy had a hand full of knives showing them to a few guys at a table. I waited my turn..which wasn't easy to do, and finally got the chance to purchase the best of the lot. Kinfolks 6292 in real nice shape. I can never find nice old folding hunters so this was a sweet surprise..

Sweet find! That tail makes it look like a folding hunter with a little Texas toothpick DNA sneakin in.

Glad you lucked out towards the end of the day.

Cool find.
I wonder if Amish men carry pocket knives even though they are pacifists?
They are folks who work with their hands close to the land. I'm sure a slippie would be very useful in Amish life and not ever be considered a weapon like most knives are considered today.

A good friend of mine is Amish and he had 4 tables full of guns and knives. His father had one of the best collections of old Colt Single Actions I have seen and they hunt about anything that walks, crawls, wiggles or flies. Some Amish are very quiet and stay to themselves but others are just like you and I..I even know one that will use more 4 letter words than my Basic Training TI..

Great lookin old knife Randy. I don't know anything about Kinfolks. How old would you say that is?

Kinfolks were around between 1925 - 1948, owned by J.R. Case, Dean Case, Tint Champlin, info taken from the Case website, Also please take a look at the link posted below, the website deals mainly with military knives, scroll down to section number 5, it talks about Kinfolk knives, what is more interesting is that it mentions a Kinfolks folder is fairly rare to find, Well done Randy. Hopefully Randy knows nearer the exact date of his excellent find.
