I was very pleased with my KISS knife. One of the most clever designs i've seen.

Untill I used it. Cut some carpet with it... only three feet of it untill it went suddenly flat.

Used to be shaving sharp. Now it wont cut warm butter.

What kind of puddy is that thing made of?
All my other knives would have finished the job with no slowing... and gone on to other jobs.

Good by KISS - your being replaced by a Dragonfly Clipit.

Carpet is pretty tough material, and the AUS6M steel that CRKT uses is as good as just about any high-end company's kitchen knives, but not in the same class as ATS34, 440C or 8A. CRKT tries to put the maximum in features in the lowest priced package, and they get fit and finish right. I would like to see them charge umpteen dollars more and use some harder steel.

I would like to see the KISS in 440C and about an inch longer. Like the STIFF unit.
Yeah, I'ld pay more for it.

CRKT do make some good knives at very good prices. They are the company to watch...

The S-2 looks very good.

If you want a KISS with different steel and length then why not contact Ed Halligan directly. I have a large ATS34 fully serrated KISS from Ed and it is a beauty. OK, my wife took it from me a while back. Damm!

Well, having purchased three KISS folders, all at different times I must disagree. Why use a classy KISS money clip which could be used for a variety of things including self defending your self when you appear unarmed!, when you could buy a real carpet knife and use it for what it's designed for, probably cheaper than the whopping $25 KISS. Sorry, but being handyman myself I would never use any of my knives for a project that could be accomplished easier otherwise!

I just purchased the folding KISS knife and it appears to be a wonderful low profile knife. I'll use it as a money clip and as a keychain for my wife's keys. I think it's a fine knife for what it is.

My wife on the other hand says if she ever had to use it that she could "KISS" her thumb goodbye because the linear lock is totally exposed and if it's not held right it's easy to disengage the blade. With practice she'll recognize the fact that it must be held with the thumb on the base of the blade and not the linear lock while in the open postion.

I just purchase a folding Kiss for my wife's key ring and I agree, it does feel like a softer metal. But let us take a "realistic" look at what this knife is. It's a small emergency knife to extent while walking to you car with your keys in your hand and really nothing else. If someone tries to mug you and they don't have a weapon then one could do damage but it iS NOT A COMMERCIAL DEVICE DESIGNED TO CUT RUGS!!!!!!!!!
