I am from a country where there is a very limited selection of quality knives. I want to order from a online store but I'm not that confident with our local postal system.

I want to carry a fixed blade for self-defense (it is legal here). I want a US made, affordable and available quality knife.

The only thing available here are cheap Taiwan and China made relica combat knives.

However, there is an Ontario Old Hickory kitchen knife that has a 5" blade that is seemingly tough and sharp. Cost is only $11.

Should I buy and carry this?
