I will be in Minneapolis during August 23 - 26 on business. I will, of course, be carrying some kind of knife. Is there anything that I should be aware of, with respect to knife laws in Minneapolis? Also, are there any "must see" attractions? I won't have much spare time, mostly evenings, and I won't have a car but if there is something that I shouldn't miss, I will try to make the time. Thanks.

Moving to Knife Laws.

Too bad nobody ever answers threads in knife laws. . . :p

Anyways, The only restriction against knives in MN that I know of is that Autos are illegal. I went down to the local cop shop here and asked them, they didnt know of any restricions re: blade length or concealment. Thus I carry whatever the hell I want. Of course in the city, if you start flashing a bowie knife around, someone might drop a dime on you. (well $.50 now, but you get the idea  ) Hope this helps, and enjoy your stay in the Twin Cities. I am not from there, so I cant really give any advice on entertainment and the like, just pick up a Star Tribune to look for events or shows.

No, it didn't get the real answer.

Maybe you can carry whatever you want on the Chiclet farm......but in Minneapolis and St. Paul and other cities and towns--check with the local city or county attorney office about local regs.

Or.......stay in rural Minnesota (a choice that is far more intelligent).

Thanks guys, I guess I'll try and keep it conservative, something with a blade less than 4" long. That should be pretty good just about anywhere.

Yes.

Checking first with local law enforcement for the local city and town regs is the safe way to go.

I know, for example, that I got a warning about wearing a 4-inch Buck Folding Hunter in Mankato once.....and that was 25 years ago.

New laws are popping up all over.

Use caution.
