Hello, I'm a newbie here so I hope I'm asking this at the right place.

anyway, I bought a Spyderco Centofante based on the reviews online and I didn't really like it. So for my second knife, I would like to go to a store and check out the acutal knife before hand. I want to check out the Benchamde but does anyone know a knife store in the LA/OC area that carrys them?

Also I know buying them online is always cheapter now days so can I ask where you guys buy them online? (other then Amazon :D)

Definitely check out Plaza, Ross Cutlery in LA, or Knife Gallery in Orange. All these shops have a large selection of Benchmades. However, Ross has the most knives, Plaza has the best customer service, and Knife Gallery has few knives and somewhat knowledgeable staff (still worth a visit if you are in the area, not worth a special trip).

If you are in the Arcadia area and feeling particularly bored check out Advance Cutlery. It tends to have a small selection and less then helpful/ knowledgeable/ somewhat unfriendly staff. At peak hours they have this one guy that does not seem to want to be there.

Yep, Plaza Cutlery has Benchmades. There's also another store around LA that recently became a bladeforums dealer; they seem to have a good stock of Benchmades.

As for buying Benchmades online Knifeworks and GPknives are the best for that brand (GP seems to have a slight edge). They both issue coupon codes so they can sell to you below the MAAP pricing Benchmade holds them to to remain authorized dealers.

recon 1 in woodland hills, san fernando valley.

Ross Cutlery in downtown LA....little side note. They are owned by the Dad and Uncle of the owner of ProTech Knives.....

thank you so much for your replys.
I will definetly check out plaza cutlery in costa mesa this weekend.
and possibly drop by at knife gallery in Orange too.

also, thanks Tsujigiri for the online stores. I acutlly just made a deposit for the benchamde AFCK at knifeworks already.
...oh man, that wasn't suppose to happen...:)

Although I'm not a fan of the giant corporate sporting goods store model, Bass pro in Rancho has a pretty good selection of knives, Buck, Kershaw, Spyderco, Benchmade, and more. They also have a great selection of sharpening tools.

If you're willing to drive that far, it's a good place to get a lot of different popular knives in your hand. The prices aren't horrible, either, somewhere between 10-15% higher than online in many cases, which is well worth seeing the product in person, IMO.

I personally am going to be ponying up the cash to buy in person, as I've had nothing but bad luck with my last few online purchases.

The Stockade in Westminster has a decent selection of knives, as does there sister store Fowler Gun Room in Tustin. You could also check out Field Time Sports in Westminster.

By far the best selection of knives in the OC is Plaza Cutlery.

Recon 1 is friendly & personable as well. Sako & Tamar are more than willing to help you out. Worth dropping by online or in store. Has a lot of productions & some customs as well. http://www.recon-1.com/

Just remember to take lots of $$$, regardless of which shop you go to. You ARE going to leave with something, I guarantee it...

Welcone to BFC, by the way. Lots of good people here. Enjoy!

Good to know about the Stockade. I drive down Beach Blvd. all the time.

You might also check out Thee Cutlery in the Manhattan Village Mall. Martin B. Retting in Culver City used to have a nice selection of knives, but you might want to call them first.
