I'm doing the initial bevel grind with a 40 grit belt on a Ti Bottle Opener Knife in this quick video. Knifemaker cam!

The grinder looks like its running pretty slow, does Ti grind pretty easily?

Not easily but it is not too bad. I find it tougher to control the grind than on steel. It is about between hardened and soft steel. I will say it is odd to grind... hard to describe.

Ti grinds best slowly, you don't want so see sparks. That is a fresh 40 grit belt, I forget the number but it is a 3M brand and that particular type of belt seems to work the best on Ti over any other belt for grinding the bulk down. It will grind faster at higher speeds but I don't like to. I grind my steel on high speed, Ti is just weird.

By the way, you see I dipped it after each pass... Ti gets crazy hot between each pass and boils the residual water on the blade pretty much every pass. (gotta keep these belts dry or it will break down the glue but some water does sometimes stay) My thumbs usually get cooked after a few knives even at that slow of a speed and with new belts.

AHHHHH trepas(not sure how to spell that) tacos! That is one thing that I love about where I live is the AWESOME mexican food! Your thread has been hijacked by TAAAAACOOOOOOS!!!

Mmm, tacos. Daniel, can you make me a custom anodized Ti taco shell rack? 'Round here tacos are actually part of your EDC kit. Never leave home without them, but if you do you are never more than a 10 minute walk from a taco. Seriously, anywhere in Stockton, 10 minutes of walking will find you a taco. I have witnessed an old timey bare knuckle fist fight over a taco.
