That's excellent. Three of the four I handled and shot (and submitted to Joe Kertzman) I wonder where he got his inspirations..... ;)

Looks like Wade Colter, Bruce Bump, Ken Steigerwalt, and Scot Matsuoka.

I knew 3 out of 4. But now I know that that pistol folder is by Bruce Bump. Looks like a talented guy......I might give him a call;):D.

Marcel

Didn't we already see that Steigerwald knife ? I might be wrong but I'm quite sure it is not a very recent one...

Marcel,

Check out pages 128 and 129 in my 4th book (The Great Collections) if
you really want to see examples of Bruce's amazing knife/pistol art.

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Thankyou Kevin. DeadWood is also on the cover of the Blade Show West brochures this year. Im pleased! :)

Hello Bruce,

Did you think that they could have found anything more exciting
to use for their cover? I don't think so.... :)

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Just received my copy today.
Full of absolutely beautiful knives as usual.

Also contains a few good articles including one on confederate edged weapons.

Is it out already?!!!! The boneheads at Barnes & Noble told me they weren't getting it until October 8th.
Edit....just ordered from Amazon.

Kevin -- what? no article about CKCA? I'm dumbfounded or just found to be dumb. Promotion, promotion, promotion lol. Lets try for next year ok.

Okay.......tell me this. How does a maker get their name in the listings section of the book

It is easy Joe, just make out a bio and send it to Joe Kertzman. He has the address in the book. Got my issue Saturday, was a little disappointed they cut down the sheath section this year.Still a fine collection of knives.Dave:)

Guys,

The deadline for the 2009 Knives Annual was Dec 1st, 2007. That's right. The CKCA was only a thought in folk's minds.

The deadline for the Knives 2010 is, again, Dec 1st 2008.

Joe, you have to submit your information to:

Joe Kertzman - Editor
Knives Annual
700 E. State St.
Iola, WI 54990
joe.kertzman AT fwpubs.com

Your bowie I shot has your contact info listed, and I submitted it, but it is imperative that you do some followup on your own.

Good luck!

Coop - Who hasn't gotten his, and has ordered through Amazon, too. No gifts even for me. :(

I actually got a call from Steven Dick about that picture. He wanted to know which e-mail was best for me. I was crossing my fingers that it might show up in TK this month, but no joy in Mudville.:D Maybe next time.;)

I have noticed that about the sheath section over the past couple of years. They also stopped printing the entire membership roster of the ABS last year. Probably a cost issue. They have a lot of stuff that they have to jam into that book and you can't add just one or two extra pages. If you want to go bigger, you have to add how ever many pages there are on a web and for an book that size, it could be anywhere from 4-16 depending on the size of the press and the web. Also, each full color page actually requires 4 separate page sized images. so they add up real fast as does the attendant cost of printing, binding, etc.

Thankyou so much guys! I got a copy free from Steve S. himself at BladeWest this last weekend. It looked great sitting on my table especially because nobody else had their copy yet. The knives and photo quality gets better every year.
