Hey, guys I FINALLY got to move back to Austin, and am wondering where around here I can go to look at knives. Anyone got any info?

McBrides has a few knives, but they are way overpriced.

Best bet might be the Saxet Gun Show that they have every month...I think it's the 3rd Saturday, but check the AAS classifieds to be sure.

Welcome back to Austin!

You can get some good deals on SAKs and multi-tools at places like Academy and even Fry's. I don't know of any good place to buy tacticals around here. I mostly shop the Internet for them.

I actually live in Round Rock. Been to the Cutting Edge a couple of times. Biggest problem is selection size, though. I'll have to try a gun and knife show.

I know it's a long way off, but be sure to check out the Austin knife show that's put on by the Texas Knifemaker/Collectors Association. I believe it will be the first weekend in August this year. Welcome back to Austin.

Hey Gang. Looks like we got the makins of a group of knifenuts here in the Austin area. What do you guys think of having a get together so we can hook up face to face?

If you're interested shoot me an email and maybe we can set something up. I am in Lago Vista so Cedar Park might be a good central location.

No fair. You gotta invite us metroplex losers, too. There's nothing here but limited surplus stores, Academy, and The Markup Knife Store. So I'm limited to Ontario machetes, Gerbers, and the world's first 200-dollar BM 710.

Try the Knifesharpist at 4703 Burnet Rd. They are small and kind of mom - n- pop, but they had some cool stuff there last time I went.
