Knockout or Piston

Trying to decide between the 2. My usual Kershaw EDC is a Tan/Black Skyline. If I want to go bigger I usually use my Spyderco Endura. Just looking for another option.

I've had my Piston for about 2 weeks now. Though it is a lot bigger than my skyline, it is really a thin and lightweight knife. I really enjoy carrying it. I want to someday get a Knockout also and a Cyro and a ZT 0560 and a ZT 0550...etc. I got a big list:)

I have had this same problem asking on here for advice between two knives and the responses were dead on.... get whatever one you are slightly leaning towards now then the other in the future.

I've been carrying my Knockout for the past month or so and I absolutley love this knife. I'm not big on assisted folders, but the subframe (monolock) lock is very nice. The stonewash on the Sandvik is also really nice. I chose the Knockout over the Piston because for EDC alumininum scales slide in and out of pocket much better than G10. Knockout has a lowride pocket clip, not sure whats on the piston. I'd say go for the Knockout, but I'm biased.

:D

Pocket clip on the Piston is non-lowride (and if you don't like the clip that comes on it, it has the same screw spacing as the Skyline-style clip, so you could swap it out), and it's a pretty large knife, but very light. I don't have a Knockout (yet!), so I can't give a fair comparison, but I think that I might prefer to daily carry the Knockout over the Piston based on the size comparisons that I have seen.

I'll pick Knockout over Piston. I've said it in other threads and I'll say it here. The Piston is a nice knife but without the full liner in them it just gives them a "cheap" feel. The Knockout to me is just a very nice all around knife. Nice blade design, great lockup, feels nice in the hand, and flips nicely.

Isn't the Knockout going to start being made with an Aluminum frame instead of G10?

The Knockout is an awesome knife and value. It has speedsafe tech, aluminum handles, stone washed 14c28n, deep carry clip, great lock up and good F&F. The only chink in its armor that I find is the angle of its flipper. However, you can probably chalk that up to personal preference (I would have preferred jimping/a ribbed surface on the flipper. Or an incline angle vs the decline it has). I do think that the angle of the Pistons flipper should make it easier to engage.

Note: The thumbstud is perfection (knockout). I just prefer flippers.

I just picked up the Knockout and in a word-awesome. I can't speak for the Piston, but I definitely would recommend a Knockout! :D
