Posted this in WSS but thought I'd post it here too:

First grab some ramps

Chop them all up

Take a pot and put 3 rocks in it then water and put the ramps on a plate with butter and set on the rocks. Put the lid on untill it's boiling:

Once it's boiling lift the ramps up and put macaroni in the water and put the lid back on.

When the pasta is cooked, drain it and then stir in the ramps, some cheddar cheese, and I like salt and pepper.

RAMP-A-RONI the WV TREAT;)

poor man's steamer (as long as the lid is smaller than the pot).

Excellent write up, HD.

The weather is now nice enough in my area to start more camping/backpacking trips. I'll give this one a shot!

Oh and here is another one. I was using the blade to cut off short sections of that stick to fuel the zip stove.

Tell me more about the 'shroom!

Those were the only 2 morels we found. That's why we were out in our woods.

Later on we had dinner of morels, asparagus from our garden and venison from a deer I shot back in Nov:thumbup:

We are getting lots of rain right now so this evening or tomorrow evening I'll go back again to see if anymore have come up. There's this one section of my woods about 1/3 mile up the hollow behind my house that they seem to like.

Here's some Oysters I found on the same hike but I haven't eaten them yet.
