Beautiful blade grind, great ergos. Very solid. The expected impeccable finish from Moki. STIFF lockback. I'll have to search for my Militec. A polished clip could be nice on this one.

Are you saying that you have recieved a Spyderco (Ed Schempp design) Kris? If so that is very cool.

I NEED to know how it cuts.

It is a little weird at first. Delicate stuff, it is like a serrated knife - kind of grabby. Tough stuff, it cuts straight and smooth like an ordinary PE, but you can feel the blade undulate as you draw the cut.

Carlos, could you pls. post some close up pics of the blade, from different angles. I would like to see the grind in close up. I guess I wont be a alone..
thanks!

Does the blade wobble when the knife is closed like the persian does?

Most likely, every Persian I've had has done that, and the Kris uses a similar handle design. I chalk it up to the larger handle, thus more room to move. Doesn't bother me, because when the knife is open, it doesn't move at all.

Great news! I'm off to starting hunting one down from the usual sources. I appreciate the heads up.

Sorry, I tried taking a bunch of photos, but most turned out pretty bad.

I'll try again in daylight.

Wobble?

I gave it full use as an EDC today, and I'm starting to think that my favorite feature of Ed's designs is how you can put your hand in your pocket for something else, and pull your hand out without getting gouged or scraped in any way. Not even sandpapered a little. :)

This knife has awesome penetration. The dagger grind is a double-hollow, and thin enough to perform. I also like the traditional almost pistol-grip, akin to the Ayoob. It points so naturally, I don't feel inclined to choke up for more control. Sometimes with the Mil I choke up so far I'm barely touching the handle.

I wish the blade hole were larger. As with the C48 Wegner, 11mm is a little too small on a full size knife IMO, and here especially with the stiffness of the lockback to overcome. I would increase it to 12mm if possible.

I recieved a Kris the other day as well, and I would just like to stretch out a compliment to Sal, Ed, and the talented folks at Spyderco. I was more than impressed with the fit and finish of the piece, and appreciate the fact Spyderco moved forward with this pattern. Tough knife to execute, and it turned out spot on. Congats!

Nice peice Carlos, I can't wait to get my hands on one! How are the ergos? Are they similar to the Persian?

Thanks,
Joe

Love the lines of the Persian. Can't really jump on the Kris bandwagon.
I feel the exact opposite. For me the Persian looks just a bit to fat and bulky. The Kris looks a lot more sleek and exotic, kind of like a belly dancer. (don't take that too literally)

I saw that last night, I was so pissed. They must have only got a few, because they were sold out within 2 hours

I don't know about that, after all, concert halls of 50,000+ people can sell out in 2 hours.
