O:K: You boys proaably already know what I,m talking about . It was that all wood Klingon looking huge axe, chopper ,thrower some of the aboriginals had . This thing looked a little slow but I wouldn,t have liked to try and block it ! Anybody know what its called and what kind of wood it is made from . I wonder if it was fire hardened or otherwise treated to make it more durable .

I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about, Kev. Are you referring to the riflestock club?

If so, a Google run will provide some information but admittedly not much.

Dave it sure does look like an oversized old fashioned rifle butt . It is the chopper that the last of the mohicans used to disassemble the main antagonist . ( Nice bloodless description .)

it was a gunstock war club, I believe. Google Crazy Crow Trading Post. Look under the knife and tomahawk section.

look into making your own also, i have seen books and sites that talk about designs/making them, but i can't recall right now. they can be quite fierce weapons.

It was once thought that Native Americans fashioned these war clubs into the shape of a gunstock because they felt there was some sort of magic accociated with the "Smoke poles". Pre- invasion examples were then found and that theory was disspelled.
