I just finished up the last blade and did it burgundy micarta this time also. Second one in burgundy which my wife liked the color of. This is some nice micarta. Seems heavier than the other or denser anyway. I know its higher priced than other micartas also but that has to do with the dye used to make this color, or so I've been told.
This one got stainless liners in .070 thickness. Its destination is unclear at this point. Maybe my pocket. We'll see. :D
This last one weighs in at 2.9 ounces making it the heaviest yet of the five I've done.

Seriously, it's a beauty man.

Nice job on the micarta. is it the same blade batch?

Yep. Last one like it. Next batch may be Wharnies when and if I get a couple done. We'll see. Thanks for the interest but I think this one has another destiny. ;)

You know whats really amazing is how with a little use and carry the oils from you hand change the appearance of the Micarta. I also finished slimming this one down. Its 2.8 ounces now so it wasn't much but just enough I think to give it a bit more of a balanced look. Can you tell?

Wow! Nice collection of Wharnies there Jim. I had no idea. I'm a big Wharnie fan too. Well, since discovering that blade shape in about the mid 90s. Lived all my life with the clip blade until then, maybe a spear before that and some after.

The Wharnie prototype came out fair to midland I think. Not near the edge keeper out of this one as the one pictured here with it which I love by the way. Boy you can tell the diff in the H/T for sure. This one just got back to me the other day from someone I'd not used before to H/T for me and its hard but doesn't quite take that bite I really like. I had to struggle with it to get it sharp. Its shaving paper well, but not having Cryo and no Bos is certainly a big tell.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think. This one is 1.6 ounces and has a choil so the handle is a bit bigger in the hand than the 3.5' measurement closed. Its a joy to carry. I think Bos is going to have to do the next heat treat or I'm probably not going to be happy. Maybe I'll try Texas Knifemaker and get their Cryo and see how that compares. We'll see. I've got a ton of work here now and more coming so I won't get back to more of these until later on my next catch up break.

Thanks for the kudos, Steve. Ya' know... That sure would be nice with a Scagel nail nick a little bit further back on the blade. Ain't been done yet, that I know of. And I know Wharnies pretty well.
