If you want handles, I need to know soon. I don`t want to be ordering scales one at a time at $15 shipping per order.

Sent ya an email. No scales for me. This one I'll be breaking out my Dremel and seeing how (un)skilled I am!

anyone know any good handle making tutorials, specifically the pins, sanding I can handle ;) I'm looking forward to this a little too much considering I have other jks on the line

This guy had a four part series on making scales with pins. He has some tools that most don't, but I you have a Dremel you can do everything he did. Hope it helps!

And I'm with you on the excited part! I CAN'T wait to have a little project for the spare weekend hours! I'm gonna get some sweet handle material! I'm like a kid in a candy store!!!

I'm in!
I'll take one with HT finish,no sheath & one with satin finish no sheath.

Put scales on it,cord wrap it,piggyback it,so many options......

I believe you'll want to remove the HT finish from the handle if you're going to put scales on it guys.
A nice hard & flat surface with 80-100 grit paper should be good.(or just get a satin finished LRK-S :))
You want the rough surface on the handle flats & scales for good adhesion of the epoxy &
make sure they are clean,no oils/grease.
And rough up the pins too.
Anywhere you put epoxy should be roughed up & clean.
I've done a few & would be happy to help with questions, but you might be better off going to the source.
Maybe John will share some of his wisdom on handling a knife if you ask him,he's probably forgotten more than I know about it.:o

And don't forget the pics!
I'd love to see what scales ya'll put on yours.
