Well, I've been really getting into slip-joints over the last yr or so & while my collection's small, it's steadily growing & got an additional 3 customs last week.

I started the week by getting a linerless Shadow by PC Randall of Patrick Knives. It's bigger than I thought, but at 2.5 oz. carries well, especially in the side pocket of a pair of carpenter jeans. It's in natural micarta, 4.25", with a Paul Bos HTed 3 1/8" flat ground 1/8" thick Wharncliffe A-2 blade. It even has 1/2 stops.

It's shown here with my Rick Menefee Backpocket Shadow in green micarta.

2nd one was a David Steier slip-joint. I don't know what this pattern would be called, although he calls it his #5 model & I think an interframe.

It's smaller than I like, at 3 5/16", but packs a lg. blade for its size, 2 5/8" with a 2.5" edge. Blade's ATS-34 hollow grind with amber jigged bone with 1/2 stops.

It's shown with the 3rd one & probably my favorite of the 3. You've probably seen pics of this one before. It's a Joe Allen Serpentine Jack in stag, 3.5". Main blade's a 2.5" Wharncliffe in S30V & the Pen blade's 1.75" in ATS-34.

The Allen almost looks like a smaller version of my Case/Bose Dogleg Jack, although the main blade's different (Wharncliffe vs Spear-point).

Wow,
You are off to a great start. If you are starting there, I wonder where you end up......

I started with Schrade old timers and drifted into Case, Schatt, Queen, and now thinking about customs.

Happy Knife week to you!

I have a Steier Linerlock that I have been abusing for well over ten years and it still locks up tight with absolutely no blade play. David makes a very nice knife.

Phew! That serpentine jack is a peach...I hope it gets lots of use. Enjoy them all! You have some very nice blades there.
