OMG, It actually works! Design swiped from a respected holster-maker, but since a friend gave me a huge sheet of leather as a present, I thought "might as well do something with this." Nowhere near the quality of the original, but hey it's not too bad for home cooking.

I just saw a design like that in a gun mag. I wonder if only one maker has it?

Looks like there is almost room to put a pocket for a spare magazine...

Thanks for the positive comments! Zen, you could make it any size and put all kinds of stuff on there, BUT since it's IWB the more you have on it the tighter the belt gets. Or I guess you could have the mag holder hi-ride so it's not actually under the belt line. Anyway, it's comfortable and secure and pretty easy to make - some leather, some kydex, some Chicago screws and some rivets, voila!

That's a nice setup. I try to make things like that but they never turn out as well as I want.

One question though, are those 2 different holsters in the pictures?

hell yea! now that's thinking outside the box. looks really good, i like it. what's with the hole over the trigger, though?

I was picturing that space between the belt loop and holster on the gunsite side.

It would, of course, take a bit of waist space, but I think it would be worth it. I was just reading in the July issue of American Handgunner, about a 70+ year old who had to shoot two robbers that were about to execute him. He got the first one, but the second one started running. He needed to reload, but his spare mag had slipped down below his belt! He had to unbuckle to get it!

No way it would fall on a double secured holster like yours. :)

Now you've got me thinking, I might see if I can add a mag holster in that space. I'll try this weekend maybe & post here how it works.

It's the same holster. The back loop is wide kydex and the front loop is a leather snap I bought from one of the knife supply guys, maybe Tracy Mickley? Both are adjustable with Chicago screws. The leather one is set higher to provide more cant to the grip.

Speaking of things never working out quite right, the hole in the trigger area is b/c I made the depression too deep, and in trying to fix it I made it so ugly/wavy that I just cut the offending bit off. Works fine though.
