Leatherman forum?

Better yet, why not a Multitool forum? One that would be subject to posts on all vendors (LM, SOG, Gerber, etc.)?

Is there enough traffic to warrant it? Probably so. I might open one up soon if there's enough interest.

It'd be in the General section if I open one.

Is there any thing those of us who are interested in the creation of a Multi-tool forum can do to help move the process along?

Yes, what will it take? Petitions, lobbyists, letter writing campaigns? :D

Basicly, there needs to be more multitool specific posts in the general forum and tons of replies to them. And not the "Gee, me too" replies.

What type of numbers are you looking for? I do not want to argue with the "big cheese" here ;), but being a confessed multi-tool addict (at times owning more that I am willing to admit), I would really like to see something dedicated become available.

Some very un-scientific research yielded the following stats:

"multitool OR multi-tool" in General forum: 464 posts
"multitool OR multi-tool" overall: 1800 posts
"Leatherman" in General forum: 808 posts
"Leatherman" overall: 3677 posts

Now I know these are not big numbers compared to other forums, but I might assume a dedicated discussion area would encourage participation.

I'd particularly like to see a Multitool forum. Maybe someone from Leatherman could mod it ?? We already have a member from LM anyway. I personally think it would be a popular place :)

I would also like to see a Leatherman forum or a multitool forum.

i have a 2 leatherman products, i'm game. maybe they could take some of our suggestions

A multi tool forum would be great.

I think limiting such a forum to 'Leatherman' only would require manufacturer support, and moderation from their staff, much like the other manufacturer forums here.

As there are several brands of multi tools, and the discussions seems to cover them all, a generic multi tool forum would be the cat's ass.

Although I am a biased LM groupie, I believe that a general multitool forum would be the way to go. Most questions related to multitools are "compare and contrast", where someone is considering several brands.

IMHO, a dedicated multitool forum would have a couple of benefits. First, it would clear the multitool posts out of the other forums. Anything that reduces the number of posts to the Blade Discussion Forum has to be a good thing. Second, it would provide new people with better guidance on where to post their question. We get questions on this topic in Blade Discussion Forum, Gadgets & Gear, Reviews & Testing, and probably elsewhere.

Tarsier makes some good points and I agree entirely.

C'mon Spark, you know it makes sense ;)

Thought I would bump this thread by making another plea for a multitool forum :D
