I have only had my leatherman micra for a few day but it has come in handy I stuck it on a pager chain so I dont have to get it cluttered with my keys. I dont even relize it is in my pocket. I used to carry a gerber multitool but it was just to big to carry everyday. I know that a lot of people would prefer it with a pair of pliers but the scissors are nice for those instances when you have to nip a loose thread and pulling out a tactical folder just isnt right in your surroundings. the thing is really well built for the size and the price I couldnt pass it up. I highly recommend this tiny tool for those of you that dont like to carry a full sized multitool.

I love mine, too. To make it super-handy, attach a photon light to it!

I carry mine in the watch pocket of my jeans. Never had a use for that pocket before! Don't even know it's there.

I've heard so many good things about the Micra, I'm thinking of getting one for myself.

In your opinion, how does the Micra stack up against a comparable Swiss Army knife, and which SAK would that be?

Yes, the Micra is a great little tool!! Seems I use that rascal daily for somthing or other. I've carried one for...well not so sure but it seems like years now. Also agree about toting a Photon light, puts out a surprising amount of light for such a small package. Have you seen the vampire gerbils Micra self-defense page? Had me blowin' soda all over my monitor!!

how does it stack up against a comparable SAK? i'd compare it to the "classic", and i think it does rather well. The scissors are MUCH MUCH stronger, though the tip is less fine, and overall has a much more solid feel. there are no detachable parts (a big plus in my book) and the phillips screwdriver works wonders. the small slotted one was a bit thin at the tip, IMHO, but that was easily fixed. the various blades lack the springy security that a SAK has, but once they are out and the handles are folded back up, they are just as secure (and more so, on an extreme level, cue to the interposition of the other side in case of accidental closure). I'd prefer it to the SAK, definintely. the blade is larger and a bit thicker than on the Classic, with an odd grind...flat ground, but the bevel is on one side only. it sharpened up well, though, and the steel had a lot of bite after some stropping. very nice tool.

It's the same size and has almost the exact tools as the Wenger Pocket Tool Chest.

I have had my Leatherman Micra for just over a year and it is without a doubt one of the handiest things I own. I use it nearly everyday for a variety of tasks. (I also carry a Photo MicroLite!).

For those of you who like little multitools, Coast hardware makes a little one, very similar to the Micra, but called a Micro-Pliers. It has a pair of pliers where the scissors are on the Micra but it does have a very small pair of folding scissors similar to those on a SAK built into it.

I carry the Micra, the Micro, and the Photon.

My Leatherman Micra has been hooked onto my key wallet for the past couple of years. I wouldn't leave home without it. Those scissors are GREAT, and I have used the built-in tweezers to remove more than one sliver!.

Great Tools. I gave several of these as Christmas gifts to everyone from my Mother-in-Law to my Office Co-workers. Every one of them has come back since and told me that they really are impressed with the performance of the Micra and all the different functions available on such a small tool.

Well I'm another member of the Micra and photon club!Nice tool In a super small size.Btw Target stores sells them for $14 every year just before xmas.

I have found my Micra to be just about the handiest tool to have along on a fishing trip. The screwdrivers come in handy for field repairs to your tackle and the scissors are indespensable for cutting line.I carry mine on a length of paracord that I have pulled the innards out of to thin it out, around my neck. This carry method allows the Micra`s scissors to be accessed with one hand. You just pull on the half of the handle opposite the ring and it opens right up.I also attach a pair of hemostats to the paracord for removing hooks and have everything I need accesable with one hand.

Micra's are great little tools. I keep one in my desk drawer and use it all the time. I gave them out as X-mas gifts and everybody that got one loved 'em and put them on their key chain. A little bigger than a SAK Classic but more tools. I got the Coast plier model for $10 at SMKW-save yourself the $10 and have a nice lunch! Weldonk

I've used Micra only few days to realize that SAK and Micra are two different animals. Micra is MUCH smaller and some lighter. It rides in my watch pocket easly AND SAK NOT. On the other hand, main blade and other tools are just bigger in SAK. SAK's blade is more than twice as long! Both are great little users. For me best combo is: Micra in watch pocket and Avalanche in right/front.

My only complaint about the Micra is that I bought a red one and the paint (or whatever it is) started chipping off after only a few days in my pocket. I had to go get an unfinished one to replace it.
