Leatherman Wave fasteners

Hello all,

Does anyone know where I can get a tool bit that will fit the fasteners on the Leatherman Wave? The handles on mine are way loose. I don't want to send it out just for loose handles. It appeared to be (at first) a tamper-resistant Torx. $35.00 later, I find that it is a five spline Torx, rather than the usual six. Also, do I need two of them to tighten handles?

All help appreciated.

I could be wrong but I don't think you can buy the tool to tighten your Wave. Leatherman may consider it a warranty issue. I've heard of them warrantying their products for this reason.

E-mail them and see what their response is. Maybe take it down to the store you purchased it from and they can warranty it for you.
 
The fasteners are special 5-lobed "Tamper Resistant Torx Plus" fasteners. The manufacturer's website says they are available to OEMs and authorized service facilities only, but I'm sure someone could get them if they knew the right people. I've already spent too much time looking online without success.
