This question will stand a better chance of being answered in the "Knife Laws" forum. I would recommend reposting it there. Shootist16 (a.k.a Dennis Bible) does a great job finding answers to these questions.
Good Luck.

Not sure about the PA legalities..

Excellent Knife..
Especially with the grind on the complete blade, no choil, all cutting edge..
Solid Lock up, Fits hand secure, Fast Deployment.. Awesome Fighter..

In Canada we have to tighten up the pivot screw, but blade length is not an issue..

Take Care..

i've also been wondering about how you open the knife in reverse-grip; with the stud on the blade seemingly set up for a traditional "thumb it open" design?? Do you just flip it open? would that damage it?
and Still have found nothing about the legality in Pennsylvania...
after this weekend i would have to send away for one; the seasonal dealer won't be around after that.

Firstly, obtain a copy of your states Penal Law book. This sets the "ground rules" for the state. A civilian should have no trouble in obtaining a copy. A library may do or a local bookstore with law publications for sale. Just about all states have town or county laws that are specific to their location. They can and do differ from their state laws. With that, perhaps a call to your Attourney Generals office may help shed some light. Additionally, a follow up to your local town DAs office can help further. Good luck.

The Pocket Hobbit is legal in PA. as is almost any other knife. "switchblades" are the only thing expressly outlawed in Pa. knifewise. I`ve talked to several cops about this including a State Police Captain I know and the general concensus is carry whatever knife you like (other than a "switchblade") and you`ll be fine so long as you don`t go around threatening people with it etc. which would make it a weapon and an excuse to lock you up. Personally I carry (among other knives) a CS Vaquero daily which if anyone asks is for slicing bagles (which it does really well BTW).

I have checked on the PA laws, and my impression as a layperson is that they are extremely vague. Other than switchblades, almost anything seems to go ... technically. I often carry a Pocket Hobbit, and don't worry about getting arrested if I don't use it in a threatening manner. However, the laws seem to give a great deal of leeway to police officers to decide if you are carrying your knife as a weapon. Also, they can easily confiscate it, even if they don't press charges of any sort.
