My family of CASE knives;
The bottom two see more pocket time...
Some nice deep red color on this old double X barehead model.
And great jigging as well, nice one herder!
Really, I can stop anytime.
I certainly couldn't
Why would you
Nice collection going.
Can one of our Case experts enlighten me about these lockbacks? Were they predominantly made in 1977? Every single one of mine were and I've only seen one from 1978. Seems strange.
My dad was puttering around in the garage as usual, and unburied this oldie, in sheath and all. He came to ask me if it was mine, and it's a knife he gave me for my 9th birthday. I haven't seen since high school. It's 30 years old now, I have no idea the model. Here it is with my sak.
Alan, the 051L was in production from 1977 until 1989. There are quite a few variations, including stag, aluminum, stainless, and one with brass bolsters on both ends. From what I read in Pfieffer's book, the last run was from 1991 until 1996. There is at least one variation with a clip point.
A recent addition: Canoe
2 are not included in the pic, my son has ‘em.
This turned up yesterday, could it be better? Only if it had arrived sooner
This has turned out to be a regular companion.
2014 Case SS Sowbelly with Bermuda Green Bone covers
These two were very generous gifts from fellow porch members jc57 (muskrat) and Will Power (texas jack). Excelent fit and finish on both, if only Case could do this every time.
When I carry a traditional folder, it's normally this one because the scale material provides friction in the 5th pocket so it stays put.
Does this count? Never gets carried, resides at the bedside...
Here is a couple I have found along the way...
I'll pm ya.
