Check this out.... I just got a new belt sheath custom made for my Larry Davidson D/A folder. Dave Abramson ('Lifter4him' on BF) made it specifically for me and fitted it perfectly for this great knife. The knife had a good clip, but I like the idea of keeping it out of my pocket and the clip is a bit dangerous around expensive painted motorcycle bodywork, which I work around all day. (I actually found that carrying it on the front was better for me than on the side)
Actually I 'won' it in a support auction for the USN forum, but that is irrelevant here. What IS relevant is how pleased I am with the whole project!! Dave gave me a whole BUNCH of options: Brown or black leather, brown black or white stitching, tip up, tip down, horizontal carry, LH, RH---whatever I wanted!
With his guidance, I chose this combo and it fits all of my needs perfectly! What I was so impressed with was the quality of his workmanship for taking up this craft in a relatively short time. Dave will give lots of credit to Gary Graley for helping him along and teaching him. Deservedly so. But I'm really thinking Dave has to take a large bow himself for his own work! He isn't ready to handle lot's of tooling embellishments as far as I know, but for me, having it tooled or with initials wasn't even a concern. Plain and simple is plenty fine enough.
You can see all the details in the pics, as well as a close up of the quality of his work. If any of you folks are interested in getting one of these fitted for a special knife, then I'd quickly email Dave to get on his list. It will be a lengthy wait before too long, I'm certain!!! (Gary has taken a sabbatical from his sheaths as well these days) Dave is an absolute pleasure to deal with (no surprise!), and kept me posted all along.
Thanks so much Dave for your great work! I'm already thinkin' of my next project!! Lifter4Him email
