This bulletproof 3.3 ounce 110 is made from existing parts: scrap bulletproof glass and metal parts from the late 1980's. Green.

Thank you for looking.

Leroy Remer, maker, tested the scale material with a firearm and got a good result. These are the first ones in the hands of a clumsy oaf so an answer to your question should be forthcoming. Right now I am still in awe.

I was talking with a retailer in Taipei tonight who saw the other pics, OKCA thread, and showed them to everyone at his place of business. They all agreed that they are very cool. Clean, clear and unambiguous. Quite an achievement for Leroy. Is there a substance which he can't bend to his will?

It is my pleasure to post on this terrific forum. You are welcome and thank you for looking. Your kind words mean alot to me.

The clear scales, of bulletproof glass (carry enough of these and are you bullet resistant?), give you a few more lighting options that regular non-transparent folders don't offer. These show what a green laser looks like in the dark (I'm surprised that I didn't take pics of my feet instead of the cutlery):

Great knives and extremely cool pics oregon-thanks. I'd like to hang those infront of an LED on my Christmas tree as a great ornament.

Great idea. HO HO HO. Leroy's gonna have a fit making a string of these to dress the Christmas tree with.

Oregon, Great pictures... Save some for the SPS... Man I can't wait to get mine... ITE ...

Man, oregon, that is extremely cool. I'd be playing with those for hours, just handling them and checking them out.

THANKS for the great post.

That is really cool. It's a perfect 'visual aid' on the inner workings of a cutlery classic.

No one else has asked, so I will. How's the 'walk & talk' on that knife? :p I noticed you hadn't yet posted any pics with the blade closed. I assume there aren't any concerns about the glass cracking at the lockbar pivot pin? Lots of strain at that joint, when opening and closing. I'm just (very) curious, not being critical. :)

And again, I'll say, VERY COOL!

Thanks ITE. SPS it is. I hope yours arrive soon. I don't want to be the first to drop one or pry open a paint can or place it near glass (where it would become invisible) and lose it! He he he...

It was beyond my imagination that bulletproof glass could be worked so well as to make it crystal clear and still be an integral component in a folding/locking hard-use knife. Leroy built these as users. I'm still in awe of them and the workmanship/steps involved in their production. They have been right in front of me since Leroy handed them to me. I don't want to get carried away here buy this is one time when I've gotten exactly what I wanted: Something unequivocal, clear and bright (no man behind the curtain). Leroy Remer walks the earth like a giant in my eyes.

This stuff stops bullets. Show me where Leroy Remer has failed to build a good knife. If it breaks at the lockbar pivot I'll eat my hat (i reserve the right to have beer with it, however).

Good point. This is a road test by a bumpkin, me. That being said I'm pretty easy on my knives. My son the mechanical engineer gets one of his choice. Maybe he can torture it. I, on the other hand, don't get custom knives very often. Forgive me if I baby these for a while.

Really cool pics oregon! Thanks!

Thank you kindly. You are welcome.

They beg attention. Really, they do.

I'm working on an offshore knife purchase from Taipei and I sent pics of these to knife folk over there. They have become quite excited never having seen anything like it. So... clean, clear and pure. Spiritual to them perhaps. They found them very attractive.
