I just finished this one for another forumite. DEsigned to be quick, it balances just in front of the guard.

Specs - 8-1/4inch forged 1095 blade with a hamon. Just over 5/32inch thickness. Flat ground, convex edge. 416SS oval guard and a handle of stabilised Ringed Red Stringybark - a kind of eucalypt (gum) tree. The chatoyant effect doesn't show well in photos.

I'll post links to the sheath pics as soon as its dry. Thanks for looking. Jason.

 That's right up there with the best of the modern bowies in my book (as a practical use blade).

Oh Jason..... ..........you've outdone yourself, if that's possible!!!

Love the shape of that handle and it goes without saying what I think of the rest of it!!!! :D

Hey that's a nice knife!!!

That handle material is cool looking stuff.

Awesome blade design as well.

Another exceptional knife, Jason. It has wonderful lines and I really like the very slight dropped edge. That is really nice wood.

That is exceptional!
Jason, what are the 3 marks on the guard in the close-up picture?

Jason, you don't have to pay to post your pics in the thread. Just put IMG tags around the link like this
. I always figured you did it to keep from eating up your bandwidth.
