Liners question..

Do all the models have liners between the handle scales and tang, or is it only on the original colors?
 
I always wonder why my orange RC-4 doesn't have the cool looking liner like the photos of the grey ones do lol
 
I love the look of those green liners. They just pop out at you.

If the liners are there to prevent corrosion, as I just read in another thread, how come the orange ones don't have them? I don't know what color you could make pop on safety orange, but....ya.

I once asked Jeff and Mike about the function of the liners on their forum, before they started this sub-forum up on BF. This was when RatCutlery first introduced the RC-3. The answer they gave, that the primary reason for putting the liners on the RC-3 was to dress the knife up and provide a character mark immediately differentiating this from the Ontario product. There was no mention of corrosion resistance.

As a side note - at that time there was no licensing disagreement between the two companies.
