Does anyone Know when Lloyd started making knives.I have a beautiful piece that was brought to Washington St. in 1934.I just bought it at a garage sale for $3.00

I think Hale was started in the late 60's with A.G. Russell, I don't believe he was making knives in 30's... Hale is still alive and making knives, you might want to try asking A.G.

I remember him from the early 70s (yeah it's a wonder I remember anything from that time); he was pretty young then, sure couldn't have been making in the 30s. He's one of my heroes of all time, what a knife maker...pure craftsman and artist.

Tom you got that right - did you see the recent KI? He "came back", one collector's been buying all his output for 20 years, and it looks - amazing.

Thanks I found out the people were wrong about
date. I just got off the phone with someone in Fl. who
is quite sure after talking to me, that I have an early
Lloyd Hale skinner with a damascus blade (means nothing to
my untrained ear).Hopefully it will be worth big $.And here I was going to make it my new hunting knife. Thanks for the info :-)

Hey I'll give ya fifty bucks for it! :D

If you bought a Lloyd Hale knife for $3, you made the score of a lifetime; it's going to be worth a lot.

Would you post a pic of it here for us devotees? I can't get enough of his work. You lucky dog. :)
