I am interested in checking out custom makers who make Lockback knives. I spoke with a custom maker who suggested "W. C. Davis" but, I have not seen his work and did not find him on the net. I would welcome phone numbers, email addresses, web sites, etc. from makers or resale sites who produce or sell this type of knife. I should note that I am not looking for a piece of art, I want an honest using knife made out of good materials.

Thanks,
Sid

Aloha Sid!
From what I have read and seen (TK 5/98) W.C. Davis makes nice looking medium-sized lockback/slipjoint folders that have stag or jigged bone handles. Very well-priced @ $150-200.00. I placed an order with him a couple of weeks ago and can't wait to get the knife. Davis said he had about a six month waiting period. The only dealer I've found who sells his stuff on the net is Seagren Custom Knives @ www.seagren.com, each knife maker is listed alphabetically. Or you can contact him directly at (816) 331-4491. He was kinda hard to get ahold of but well worth it! E-mail me if you need his address. Aloha!!

Check out the work of Dick Atkinson. He makes some very nice lockbacks, filework on the back and micarta handles with Abolone or MOP inlay. Price is very reasonable in the $160 range

Steve Mullin makes a super lock-back. I believe he offers them in D-2, CPM440V, or working Damascus.
