Just received my 2x72 VS grinder with all my accessories shipped from Stan Parsons at Log Cabin Forge. I picked up a 195#crate (built and packed by Stan himself!). I can tell you all now that the photos you may have seen of this grinder does not do it justice. This grinder is literally overbuilt similiar to the strength of an Abraham Tank! The only other professional grinders I've seen were a B111 and a Wilton Square Wheel up close, so I can tell you that from my prospective, Stan builds his grinders to a high quality. The operation is quiet, the 10" smooth wheel is a work of art! Just looking at the grinder you can see where he has modified his original designs for current usage. The tracking is SWEET! Fit and finish overall is superb. I can now say that I was skeptical of stepping up with the additional bucks to buy a variable speed, but after using this one last night, there is no comparison of the ease of use of a Variable.

Those of you that are looking to step up to a professional grade 2x72 grinder should look at Stan's product. It is certainly a quality piece of equipment and is moderately priced, even with VS and the attachments. And you certainly can't find a better guy to deal with, Stan and his wife, Georganna, are swell folks.--Dan

Bill,

I don't think they have a website. They did have a photo of the unit on an aol homepage (but I don't have it anymore) Siggi sent me some earlier photos of the same machine I have and I'll email the photos to you to view. Check the only other posting for Log Cabin on this forum and I think there is a link and other info for you. (It is definitely worth checking out!)--Dan

Bill,
If you are interested in the "touchy-feelie", I'd invite you to come up to Kansas City one Saturday and play with my new tank (Log Forge Grinder), that way you can see for yourself. We might even break and go down the road for a slab of ribs! I notice you're down at the Lake. My father in law lives in Camdenton and we go down there for visits about 6 times a year. You're welcome to come up and put hands on to see if you'd like it--Dan

Tangus,

Thanks for the invite, I might take you up on that sometime. What is your father-in-laws name, is he from camdenton. Theres a good chance that I might know him, I went to school in camdenton and have done quite a bit of work around there over the years.

Bill
