I don't know if this idea has been posted here, but it is so simple and CHEAP I thought I should mention it. Also, haven't tried it in steel yet, just copper and bronze. All it takes is ferric chloride, an exacto knife and for a resist- cellophane tape! Results were excellent in non-ferrous metal, extremely clean, fine lines on some of my experiments. Gonna try this on steel very soon.

Looks good Richard! I have a questions: when do you cut the pattern in the tape, before or after sticking it on the knife?
I can't wait to get home to give this tape ideea a try since all the knives I made so far don't have a logo yet.

Flavius- I do it after the tape is on. Just make sure the blade is very clean so the tape adheres everywhere. Good luck, I'm going to try this on one of my old blades today.:)
