Well, for the life of me I can't remember who asked for this, but their idea was good. A 3 finger karda is really going to kick IMO. The knife feels sweet a bit longer.

Probably going to put a layered stabalized Walnut crotch/blk micarta handle on it. I've got a lot of 1/8" micarta, so may not be black...

I really like this extra length, and I'm considering just making it standard.

The original in hand:

Where the original is good for small tasks (boxes, string, (unless you're Himilayan, then you could butcher a Yak with it)), the original is much more functional. An order of magnitude functional improvement. Customer idea, all the way. I love hearing y'all's ideas. Keep on posting!

I like the longer handle!

Beauty! With balls.

Are you thinking of making the handles thick and round for the 3-finger, or go slimmer for more compact?

This design is slim and compact. Thats why it is $85 shipped for the shorter one. Not a lot of handle time. Handle time is costly.

AH! Very Nice! I foresee one of these in my future; I've had my eye on the Karda for a while, and the three finger version is even better! :)

I can't wait to finish this knife. They batch hits glue today, and next week they'll be done. This simple little knife has really got me excited.

Hmmm...you know, I'm thinking this three finger Karda, in Scandi, would be an awesome piggyback or companion to my upcoming convex-saber Hunter. One guy for robust work, and one guy for the delicate stuff. How thick do you make the Kardas, Andy?

I'm thinking a red micarta scandi Karda would be quite nice :D I want to wait until I see the finished product first though before I add it to my order, just so I know it really "clicks".

Btw, I believe it was Shotgun who suggested a Karda with a longer handle, if I recall that thread correctly.

I'm real excited about this karda. I dropped the blade behind the damn platten early on, before HT, so it has deep scratches that preclude sale, so I definitely get tokeep it!!!

Funny you mention the micarta you did, I'm doing red linen over a white G-10 liner for this one.

I do the Karda's in 1/8" stuff usually. But really, if a thicker bar happens to have that much waste, then it'll probably get one. I like the karda in Scandi too!

Sounds excellent! Looking forward to seeing what it looks like finished, I'll probably be adding this to my order :)

Um... somewhat longer than before.

Okay... those 3 finger Kardas are really singing to me, Andy!

Scandi grind, good micarta handles and a neck carry sheath and you've got just about the perfect last-chance-save-your-life survival knife!

I will put in a good effort to be patient and get one knife at a time though... :-)

Kurt.
