Can anyone suggest a few good reads about bladesmithing and forging? To combat the problem of my extensive ignorance, I figure that reading and talking to you folks would be a good start.

Dewey try this link www.anvilfire.com. They have books for sale and can also answer many questions.
The Complete Bladesmith is a very good book IMHO.
Its available from several places, but www.paladinpress.com is the publisher.
