I am looking for a genuine tibetan knife, does anyone know where i can find such a knife?
It doesn't have to be old, i just wan't it to be "genuine" in design, construction, etc.

Thank you

Depends...there are a lot of knives in Tibet. What use to you intend for it?

Well, i am interrested in the Tibetan culture, and knives. So i thought that maybe someone had a reliable source of tibetan knives that are not overly decorated but the knives a Tibetan will use as his trusty companion.

Not "show" knives or cheap copy's but the genuine thing.

Don't really know where to send you.
Steve

Something like this? http://www.chinaculture.org/gb/en_chinaway/2004-07/19/content_56870.htm

I bought this on Ebay. I think it's a lower quality piece. More discussion of Tibetan knives here http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=392387&highlight=tibetan

Mongo,

The Tibetian culture spreads outside the political boundaries of Tibet. I picked up a handforged knife in Yunnan province, PRC, high up on the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau. The culture there is Tibetan.

Take a look at http://www.aolisi.net/TibetanKnife.htm .

There is a website reference on the card, but the website is in Chinese. If you can get past the language barrier you may be able to order a good Tibetan knife from them. They have some cheap factory knives on the website too, which you probably want to steer clear of.

Lol, i already own a phurba, but it is exclusively used for certain tantric rituals!

The Phurba is a ceremonial dagger

i am looking for the cutting implement :D
