My colleagues are flying to Las Vegas and they are willing to buy something for me. Any advice where to direct them.

Thanks

Hi David,
There's a place called Blanchard's Cutlery outside of the strip. About a $10 taxi ride from downtown. They feature a number of production, fanatsy and custom knives at the store. The owner is a maker and you can even watch him work through a glass window while he is working. It is a very nice looking store but the prices are very high.

I was there for a conference in February and made 2 visits. I bought some old issues of Blade but I didn't buy any knives which was good for me, since I can be kind of impulsive.

Mrs Blanchard was very nice to talk to and it was worth taking the taxi out there since there is a large mall across the street and I very rarely get to large malls since we have none here on Kodiak.

Hi David!
My suggestion would be to call a mail-order company or one of the internet-shops an have the knife you like to sent to the hotel with overnight delivery.
I tried that when I was on vacation in the states and it was a pleasure to arrive at the hotel and be welcomed by a parcel of knives.
Greetings

Good idea, but can I trust those hotel people??

I thought of this as well but my concern is the trustworthiness of the hotel staff.

I agree with Greg... Blanchard's is the place to go in Vegas. His shop is located in a strip mall directly across the street from the Stardust. The address is 3025 Las Vegas Blvd. S. #120. Phone is (702) 733-8333. Gary also does engraving to die for!!

P.S. Check out the cigar shop in the same mall.
