Hey all.....

Friend's looking for a knife with a coldsteel culloden type blade. Single edged but longer lets say 8"to 10" with a hilt (culloden has none. I suggested a arkansas toothpick but he wants the blade to be narrower. Any suggestions? I told him I had access to the GUYS and Gals who know so don't let me down.

A Picture or a link would be very helpfull . if i can see it maybe i can point you in the right direction .:D

Most people don't have a need for such knives that are that pointy.
You might have to go with a custom, unless your friend doesn't mind a thin dagger style blade. Your friend might even like a Stykes-Fairbairn dagger. Also, I think Gerber still makes thin knives like that.

Okay, here you go:

Do a search for Culloden or Skihn Du (someone please spell that right) I think those are the styles your friend is looking for.

Also, check out the HI SEAX:

I didn't see any for sale in the store area, but if you're interested, you can ask Uncle Bill in Himalayan imports forum, he'll probably be able to get you one quickly.

Thanks all..........I did mention a fairbairn/sykes to him but he wanted a single edge. No clue what he wants if for but would guess because it would be a cool knife to have. I told him about the custom route and he said he would think on it (price range and all) the gerber would be close but still double edged even if partial serrations. He wanted the double edged but I warned him aginst it on account the tip would be so fine that it would snap off if he ever used it but it would be sharp as a needle. Well, Thanks again for the info I will pass it along.
