Looking to get a custom mod done to my Kershaw/Onion SpeedBump

I just acquired my soulmate... a brand new Kershaw/Onion Speedbump. I love this knife. I have one gripe though, I hate where the Pocket Clip is. I like a knife where the clip is on the bottom of the handle, much like the S.O.G. Flash II, which was my previous knife before I met this beautiful lady.
I'm looking for someone that could professionally modify the knife for me so that the clip is much like it is in my photoshop mockup here....

I was referred here by DutchV. He said that a Mr. Steve Rice might be able to do this for me. How much would it set me back? I'd be willing to be parted with her for a few days if it meant she came back to me as perfection. ;)

I would even love it if the clip was like the Flash II's where it is attached on the inside end of the knife, allowing the but end of the knife to be flush with the pocket. Here is a pic of that knife...

I actually have this Boker knife too, and I'd be willing to part with it, if someone could fit the pocket clip from it to my SpeedBump, meaning you could have the Boker Automat for your quality workmanship in exchange if that deal would suit you. I really like the pocketclip on the Boker, because of the waveform of the clip, it makes it very easy to pull the knife up out of the pocket using only one finger if need be.

I would love to talk to someone about possibly working this out. :)

Thank you.

Yeah I like you automat but I don't allow autos mailed to me for work.

Its nice though. Even still I believe I've seen that one and as I recall the clip is unique to that folder. Can't recall exactly why.

Normally what I do is fit a low rider clip also called a 'fold over style clip' and I make it use two of the existing holes on three screw mount types or both on two hole mount types.

I have not done the one you ask about but it does look like its just possibly enough gap between the two screws to allow a folder over to come down in between them. It will be narrow there but I think it can work. With a little planning I can curve a clip to make it fit the body like it belongs there. I would need the knife to do it though because without the folder I don't know where to make the fold over point on the new clip to make it sit as low as possible. If I did it shooting from the hip with a guess shot it may underhang or overhang off the end. Some have to underhang a little to work right. Its only possible to make them stick up just enough to keep the clip from peaking over the edge. On most if it creeps up over the edge its a sharp point to nail the palm in use so I try to maximize comfort, make them as invisible as possible in a fold over and also make them look like they were made to go on just that folder, which technically they are. ;)

Read my low rider clip thread and all you need to get the folder to me is right there. Fill out the work order form after printing post number two. You will be good to go after that. Thanks for asking. Beautiful looking knife too by the way.

Wow. Now that was a fast reply. Thank you STR. I really appreciate it. I will look at your other thread and I will send you my knife most likely on Monday, but it might be a week later. We are going to Iowa on Wednesday and will be gone for 4 days. The fold over low riders look nice. What other styles do you have? Also, you mention two screws. The picture in my first post is a redesign mockup I did in photoshop. That how I'd like the knife to look. This is what the knife looks like in reality....

Sorry for the confusion. Think you could still do a clip mod on it?

I guess now I'm a bit confused. If you just want me to take the existing clip off the folder and flip it around to tip up carry that is entirely different than me making a new clip for it although I can do it either way I think. If nothing else I can simply make a copy of the clip on the folder now as close as possible out of titanium only make the new one fit for tip up right hand carry which is what it sounds like what you want and not so much a low rider.

You are showing me pictures of the existing clip flipped only made for tip up so that is confusing me because I thought you wanted a new low rider fold over style clip and not a standard style clip like shown in both your pictures of the Kershaw. I can do it any of those ways but I can't reuse the original clip for tip up carry right hand only left hand. I just need to be clear on what I am expected to do. Low rider or copy of original clip for diffrerent mode of carry???

Thanks

STR, thank you again for the reply. Sorry I got you all confused.
What I'm wanting is a copy of the original clip for a diffrerent mode of carry. Where the clip is now, I just want it on the other end of the knife so that when the knife is closed, the tip is pointed up at me. What I would like is if the copy of the original clip could be a fold over design, like your low rider clips, instead of the straight, slightly angled piece that it is now. Is that possible?

I believe I can pull it off but it does depend on how sharp of a bend I can make. Generally speaking you don't want the folded over part side ways so it sits on its edge on your pocket. If its not relatively flat in carry it may be only something I'd recommend in a standard style clip. Either way it will be custom made and not exactly the same look as the one on there now but I can come up with something that will both function and look good on the folder in all liklihood.

So long as the work order form with all the details I need is in the box with the knife when it arrives here I'll be fine. Where I run into trouble is on the days when a knife arrives all by itself and no note or information of any kind is in there with it. I get too many contacts per day anymore to even begin to keep up with all of them so the work order information is vital.

Thanks

That will work for me. :) I'll plan on sending the knife out to you on August 4th. That's when we return from Iowa. I'll make sure the work order is in there as well. How does payment work? Is payment made after the work is completed or before hand?
Also, if you'd like, I'm bored quite a bit, I can make you a form in Pdf format that you can link in your thread for people to print out.
I really appreciate your time on this. Thank you again. :) I look forward to doing business.

I know what a PDF file is but I don't know anything about the details of where or how to attach it. Is that done just like others with a cut and paste?

If you are saying you can fix me up with a printable pdf in both my low rider and read this sticky threads set me up and I'll give you the clip. One good turn deserves another.

Fair enough?

Uh-oh wife just caught me. I'm not supposed to be on here. Supposed to be spending time with her. Gotta go.:D

Awesome!! You got yourself a deal man! I'll whip you one up here tonight and submit it to you for approval.

Got both and its working from what I can tell. We have a deal. My wife came in and figured out how to make it work in each thread. So not its done. You might verify that when you see this. Thanks my friend. That will add a touch of class to the print out form for sure. I like what you changed here for me also. Nice logo too by the way.

Steve,

I sent you another email. The link is not working. I set the file up on a file sharing website where people can download it from. It was free, and there's no wait on getting the download like there is with rapidshare. Users won't need to sign up to the website either to download the file.

Here's the link again... http://www.mediafire.com/?mi1mb0j9jze

I'm glad we could work this out. Helps you, and helps me. I'm super grateful. I'm looking forward to sending you my knife, for sure.

Update: That website does throw up a couple of pop-ups, which is kind of annoying. I'll see if I can find a better hosting site, but in the meantime, that one should work good for you.
