I found a 1980 First addition Loveless knife #537 of 2000. It had 4 very very small scratches on the tip of the blade and small scuff from being opened and closed. The knife has never been used. Any idea of the value of something like this.

Why are you asking this question on the Knife Throwing forum?
You may want to try the general disucssion forum.

Unless Bobby he's thinking of using a Loveless as a thrower.
I'd personally like to see video of that. :D

A loveless folder????? The only one I can think of is the "City Knife". They are Loveless designed production knives and go for around a hundred bucks new.

I don't know anything about Loveless knives but found it at an on-line store in Japan. It is about 5000 US dollars. want to decorate in my room but not throw it.

Sorry, this is the third time trying to post picture. I hope I made it this time. Saw it at an on-line store in Japan for about 4,000 US dollars.

The only info I could find on Yamahide is that it is a knife dealer in Japan. I was confused by your "opening and closing scratches" statement. Looks like a real Loveless. Price seems in line with current values of a custom Loveless and a little on the low side. You could have prolly made a grand by buying it and reselling it.

Here is a similar one for sale, but not in stag which are rarer because Bob does not like stag, but will make them to order. His classic and signature handle material is micarta. Hard to verify its authenticity by such a small pic so as always know what you are buying before you buy it.

When I become annoying, let me know. At first I thought your knife was the classic drop point hunter. I then realized it was not, but was a different pattern simply called a Utility. Found this pic, but the knife was not for sale.

Pattern could have an effect on price. The drop point hunter being the best known, most copied and most beloved of the Loveless line.

Thank you for the info, but I wasn't going to buy this knive. I just wanted to show you the picture of the knive because I thought it may be a very special one. I would like to have one but can't afford it. Maybe when I get much older and payed more.

The 537# has nothing to do with being of 2000. It is a shop work order number. The knife is the Stag Utility. The current after market value is appx. 4500.00 to 5800. Depending on the stagg quality, and the scratches you mentioned. The double nude logo being shown does gring a premium.
