Well worth the wait. Fresh from a trip with bonus air miles from Texas is a 1987 pattern drop point with double nude logos and ironwood + red micro spacer handle. The '87 pattern has a somewhat wider blade/handle than later versions and looks/feels like a dream to me.

Thanks Mike!

Dave

Dang I was not even born yet:D, I really like Mike and his work

Having been to Mike and Manuela's place I have had a first glimpse of many fine older knives.

We don't see enough Lovett examples around here , and now , two in one day.
Win posted his "Wilderness" from The Plaza here in the Gallery and you post this most excellent Drop Point.
Congrats , Dave.
To borrow a phrase from Mike: Love It ! :)

Hello Dave!

I am glad she finally got there! Man, what an around the world trip!

Hope she serves you well, as she is as close to true Loveless as I know how to make.

With many thanks to Bob Loveless and Jim Merritt for making the Lovett-Loveless Connection Knives a possibility. The feel in the hand is what really brings a Loveless to life! You just can't get that from a picture. I have worked hard to capture this one aspect of a true Loveless more than any other single element, and feel it has been well worth it.

Thank you for showing Her off!

Mike and Manuela

I've been lucky enough to have handled a "few" of Mikes knives and will attest to the fact that they have that special feel to them ;)

Congratulations on your score, I'm sure it will serve you well.

A truly handsome looking knife, well done Dave.

Anyone know what the waiting list is like for Mike Lovett's knives? I've tried emailing but got no response.

Regards,

John

OOp's, I missed this one. They changed my e-mail to

micheallovett@embarqmail.com

This has caused a lot of us to loose touch.
I am really having to slow things up here at the Lovett Shop due to the the forced eminent domain move. The e-mail address should be the same, but the physical address will change.
