Hi Tim. I draw the patern with pain brush and nail polish and then i etch in ferric chloride. With this technology I etch a knife from Bohler K110 and is used for fishing in Greece and is constantly around salt water. The owner says that there is no rust. Other good thing of this surface finish is that is very good in covering markings from use and wear.
